App Discovery #1: MavenSay

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I'm an app-maniac. Seriously. I download pretty much everything possible. I want to share one of the latest discoveries. This is MavenSay. And this is the story of Fred, the Honey Maven.

Basically all you need to do is set up your profile, and share your favorite things. As the developers say, this app makes it very easy to always know what's good around you. You can follow your friends and influencers, and add to the general goodness of it all. The best thing here is that it helps you kick start your very own personal guide to wherever you live. Or wherever you travel to. Sometimes I find that people writing guides don't really get my taste, while using MavenSay I can actually choose whose tips I want to follow.

Did you download it yet? Well, you should. And you should follow me, like, immediately.
Here's a little hint of what you'll find on my profile. For now.

In other news, I'm going to U Barba again tonight, and I think you'll see an in depth review of the restaurant pretty soon on here. If you have any suggestions of places I should try in Milan, drop them in "les comments". Cheers.

13 Resolutions

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

It's been a year. From when I first bought this domain and decided I wanted to blog. 12 months and something. 372 days, to be precise. And up until now, I had not posted a single word. My friend Anja would have killed me if she could. Softly, but still. Since the world didn't end in December, that gives me a second chance, right? Right. So, to kick this blog off in style, I decided to share my resolutions for this year, my 23rd. I have never been one to mumble about these things very much, so some might be a little obvious. Please bear with me, I just started, I deserve a little comprehension and encouragement I guess. Let's begin then, set the sails and leave the safe harbor.

From me, to me, for a year full of wonder:

1. Find the time and money to travel more.

2. Take photos, good ones, with an actual camera.

3. Discover more art, there's always so much out there that you don't know about.

4. Read more, be curious. Use that brain of yours!

5. Watch more movies, not silly ones though.

6. Find out about new, amazing music and sing your lungs out.

7. Blog! We all have a story to tell, and this is the easiest way to do it.

8. Build a Milan city guide. If anything, this shall give this blog a purpose.

9. Spend less money, in more clever ways.

10. Keep on track with an organic beauty routine, natural equals good when it comes to your skin.

11. Cook more often, lovely healthy food.

12. Enjoy the company of your friends and all the awesome people in your life.

13. Cherish every moment, here and now is what really counts.

I know this last one sounds cheesy, but sometimes I get so wrapped up making plans, I forget what's good in my life. What's keeping me here, making me who I am today.

Well, I guess that's it. I hope it wasn't too long a post, I got a little carried away.
What about you two readers of mine? Do you have any resolutions? Please, share!

Until next time, which hopefully will be very soon. I intend to keep up with the good work.
